If you ask which is the most persecuted religious group in the world, the answer may surprise you.
The most persecuted religious group in the world are the christians, and specially christians living in muslim countries in the Middle East, such as Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Cyprus, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Emirates, Oman, Bahrain,Yemen and Egypt. Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and North Africa are also included in the Greater Middle East area.
All countries in the Middle East are muslim countries except for Israel where judaism prevails and Armenia which is a christian country.
100 years ago the number of christians in North Africa and the Middle East was around 20% of the population. But unfortunately, today the number of Christians is only 4%. The number of christians in Turkey is less than 1%, 1% in Iran, 3% in Saudi Arabia, 1.6% in Pakistan, 6% in Iraq, 5% in Oman, 1% in Afghanistan, 2% in Israel, etc...
And why the Middle East, being the birthplace of Christianity, is today considered the most difficult and unexplored territory for christians?
Yes, it´s obvious that there´s a lot of violence against christians in muslim countries. Yes, churches are bombed and set on fire, christians are imprisoned and killed. And that is the strategy Satan uses to instill fear in christians and stop them from proclaiming the Gospel in those territories. For so he will be able to keep millions of people in captivity.
But we can also see how the salvation of those people is important for God, and that´s why He has already begun to manifest Himself there through dreams and visions, Jesus reveals Himself, speaks to people, heals and brings repentance. Many mulim believers witness the miracles that God performs and through that they accept Jesus.
Yes, althoug many christians have long been denying to bringing the Gospel to the Middle East, but God never surrenders, He continues to change their lives in supernatural ways.
